Can Earley make a Hat Trick?

Deadeye Earley is moving up in the points. Can he make it a Hat Trick? It seems lady luck is on his side.

Paulie finally made it to the money. Show me the Money Paulie. Was it luck or did he get a few pointers. I personally think he is starting to get it. Watch out for the quiet one.

Chris has been in the middle of the pack. Is he going to break out and move up at his establishment or will he fall to the host curse.

Will Pat actually call and let someone know he is coming? or will he be too busy woking out the final details of St. Judes St. Patrick Day Beef and Beer on March 17th.

At the March 9th game, I have replaced the bounty chips with a new chip. This will help keeping them seperate from the money chips.

I got a Poker Rule book. Not only does it have hand rankings, but I found it very interesting that it also had button movement and poker etiquette. The name of the book is “The Rules of Poker – Essentials for the Every Game” by Lou Krieger and Sheree Bykofsky. It might be a good idea if you don’t know the rules to look them up. There are websites around that have them. http://www.pagat.com/vying/pokerrank.html#standard is a good website with the hand rankings. If you have a guest it might be a good idea to have them read it.

Can Earley Do it Again?

Well I didn’t make 5 in a row and Loose Molloy had a litte help from St. Jude with the magical Queens showing up on the Turn and the River to put me into forth place. But the big news was Earley coming back from a major short stack to beat JR in a tight back and forth race. This also helped him in the standings to 1 point be behind JR.

Friday is a new game and we get to break in JR’s new card room. The bathroom is on his neighbors front lawn so wear you coat when you go outside. The will be plenty of beef jerky and PBR.

With the new rule that the winner from last weeks game becomes the dealer, lets see if Earley can play cards and deal at the same time.

Paul will be late so he will be added in and blinded when it is his turn. This might help his game so let watch out for the underdog. Do you think he can pass Joe D in the standing, he has a good chance Friday since Joe D will be out dancing the night away.

Our First Year Anniversary – 5th Round of the FNCPT

We made it to one year, and still have the same group of great guys. I can’t believe the good cards I’ve been getting. Can I make it to 5 straight? Or will my defense let the field run all over me?

Will Deadeye Earley have something to say about it or will he fumble the ball and fall short of a touchdown!

How about JR will he get beat on the River again? Will “Boar Hunter” Stear go all in Ace High?

Do you think we can get both Milk Carton Boys at a game together? I know “Dirty Martini” Guippone is coming. He must have been inspired by the new Bond movie. I think Sheriff Molloy is still spending his second place winning from last month.

Got to watch out for Pancho Kokiko sliping into third place, I think he is going out at night practicing at the Iron Hill Brewery.

Hole-In-One Arnold will show up at the game but will the cards show up for him?

Rody is the quiet one, in the middle of the pack waiting for his turn to come, or is he really coming for the beer. I bet the beer.

What can I say about Joe D? At least he is not in last place. He kept the host streak alive by going out first.

I have been practicing for Friday and have been on every night at Doyles Room. If go there my username is JCoviello. I like to play the $3.00 or $5.00 tournaments and sometimes the nickel/dime games. So far I’m ahead but not looking to make a killing. Just like the practice.

The Skyline Tavern has Thursday night poker at 8:00 PM. I might start going there, let me know if you are go.

4th Round of the FNCPT

Well here we are starting Round 4 and I’m still the King. I see John Earley and Scott Arnold were a little afraid to show up this Friday. Will Pat show up or be the missing milk carton boy. I know JR has me in his sights, that’s a good thing, I know a couple of deer that were in his sights too, and they are still running around PA. Or will the return of Todd “The Playboy” Rody be my demise. Or better yet will Ken “the Boar Hunter” Stear finally make his mark. Don’t worry I wasn’t going to leave out Chris “Pancho Via” Kokiko, I hear he is thinking about practicing some “Hold’em at one of the watering holes. How about Paulie “Jet Lag” Guippone, will he be able to stay awake during the game? Then there is Joey D, he has the home turf, he can’t be unlucky with the lower flushes again. See everyone Friday Night!!!!

3rd Round of the FNCPT – November 10th

I still see I’m in first place, hopefully after Novermeber 10th I’ll still be on the top. Will our missing milk carton boys be there, I know at least one of them will be because he is hosting it. He thinks he is going to get everyone liquored up so he wins. Ok he will win the pot but won’t move up in the standings by much.

Maybe John will get lucky and stop playing his nut pairs. Kings over Queens, Aces over Tens and Nine over Kings, will the list go on. At least he had Blue and Maze over Blue and White.

Rody and John E are tied for second. Our cellar dwellers are Pat, and Paul with zero points, you get 1 point for showing up.

Second Round of the FNCPT

Well October is the second round of the Friday Night Cards Poker Tournament. Maybe some beer will be flowing from Ken “the Boarhunter” Stear’s new poker room. Will my run continue can I make it to the top three. I’m hoping on it. Got the spot picked out for the trophy already. See you Oct 13.

Ok everyone, look in the mail the next newsletter is coming out. Lets hope for warm, dry and no wind for June 9th. I have enough Sierra Nevada for Rody, and Stab for JR. Just burned 4 hours of county music just for Rody (wise a$$ with the Atlantic City comment).

I’ll put a donation bucket for the trophy. If we chip in $6.00 each we can get the roman chalice. The same one used at the last supper, now you don’t need to see the DaVinci Code (I think the Holy Grail is at Joe D’s house along with Jimmy Hoffa’s bones). I don’t have to worry it will never come home to me the way my luck is going. Should just give it to JR now.

If JR wins again, it will be time to put a bounty on him. Side Bet of $5.00 if your in the side bet and take him down you get the side bet pot. But if he wins he gets the side pot.

Speaking of AC, if anyone is interested in going let me know. A trip on a Wednesday would be ok during the summer. Nice way to see how a tournament is run. Get to see some interesting people.

Well John E and Paul are out of the running but John R is back. I bet he thinks he will take down first time winner Ken. But wait, do you think Joe D is going to let him. Or even Scott now that he feels better, and no rabbit’s foot for Todd this Friday. Will Pat get handcuffed?. But with us going south of the boarder at Chirs’ house anything can happen. Lets hope I get lucky this time
